Uttar Pradesh offers free rooftop gardening kits to 400 Ghaziabad families

Uttar Pradesh's horticulture department will give 400 Ghaziabad families free rooftop gardening kits worth ₹10,000 to grow organic vegetables at home. Under the Rooftop Gardening Scheme, selected residents get seeds, saplings, polybags, vermicompost, cocopeat and manure. Applicants need urban house ownership, 100 square feet rooftop, an affidavit, and a geo-tagged photo; selection is first-come, first-served. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on chemically treated market produce and improve urban greenery, helping cut heat impact while supplying fresh, pesticide-free vegetables year-round.
