Uttar Pradesh implements third-party audit scheme for factories

Uttar Pradesh has implemented a self-certification and third-party audit scheme for non-hazardous factories, reducing inspections to once every five years upon declaration of labor law compliance. This initiative aims to minimize departmental interference in labor law enforcement. Start-ups in the non-hazardous category are exempt from inspections for ten years. Inspections for non-hazardous factories can still occur with permission if there are verifiable complaints or accidents. High-risk factories will continue to be inspected by labor department officials.
