Uttar Pradesh farmers sell record 6.23 million metric tons of paddy, receiving 150 billion rupees

Uttar Pradesh has set a new record in paddy procurement, purchasing over 6.23 million metric tons. This surpasses the target of 6 million metric tons, with farmers receiving approximately 150 billion rupees in payment. The procurement process concluded on February 28. The state established 4,869 purchase centers, buying paddy from over 1.05 million farmers at rates of 23.69 and 23.89 rupees per kilogram for common and Grade A varieties, respectively.
