Utopai and DeNA partner on AI-assisted animation in Japan

Utopai Studios and DeNA announced a collaboration in Japan to explore AI-assisted animation production, integrating Utopai's PAI system into DeNA's experimental workflows while artists retain final creative control. The partnership will test PAI for visual development, character design, scene planning, and production iteration. DeNA's creative teams will work with Utopai specialists, with artists maintaining authority over story, style, and tone, and approving all final creative decisions. PAI is already used in professional productions globally, including in China and the United States. Access to materials will be strictly controlled under agreed rules on permissions, intellectual property, and security, as the companies evaluate PAI's potential in animation.
