US urges vigilance after three Houthi strikes on Saudi airports
The United States has urged its citizens in Saudi Arabia to maintain heightened vigilance following three Houthi attacks on Saudi airports. The advisory comes after strikes targeted Riyadh's international airport, Najran airport, and the Khamis Mushait airbase. The State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs posted the warning on X, noting that US government employees in Saudi Arabia now require special authorization to visit the affected airport. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attacks, which involved ballistic missiles, and reports indicate at least one aircraft sustained serious damage. Saudi civil defense reported that intercepted missile fragments fell in Riyadh, damaging a kindergarten and a medical center. The airport has advised passengers to confirm their flight status with airlines before traveling.
