US urges caution for Americans in Saudi Arabia after Riyadh airport attacks
The United States has imposed special authorization requirements for its officials traveling to Riyadh's airport, targeted by Houthi rebel attacks, and urged American citizens in Saudi Arabia to increase vigilance. The State Department's consular affairs office confirmed awareness of attacks on the international airport and advised heightened caution. U.S. government employees must now obtain special permission to travel there, following multiple Houthi strikes that damaged at least three aircraft. The Houthis claimed three attacks on the airport and renewed warnings to airlines. Saudi civil defense reported missile fragments falling in Riyadh, damaging a kindergarten and medical complex. The conflict has killed over 400 people since Monday, displacing more than 200,000 in Yemen.
