US Denies Visas to Some Iranian UN Delegation Members, State Media Reports

The United States has denied visas to some members of the Iranian delegation, including President Masoud Pezeshkian's media team, ahead of the UN General Assembly, according to Iranian state media on Monday. State news agency IRNA described the move as an "unprecedented hostile measure" by the US government. The US State Department had approved the delegation's entry on September 17 but imposed restrictions, including a ban on purchasing souvenirs and other goods, similar to last year. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei condemned the decision on X, comparing it to the Trump administration's recent ban on three major US media outlets from the White House. Pezeshkian is scheduled to address the General Assembly on September 23.
