US allows chip software exports to China

The U.S. has lifted export restrictions on chip design software to China, according to a statement from Synopsys. Synopsys is working to restore access to its products in China after the U.S. government rescinded the restrictions imposed in May. These restrictions required licenses for exporting semiconductor-related software and chemicals. The decision follows China's indication of progress in trade talks with the U.S. and agreements to resume some technology exchanges.
