ooe.orf.at (German)

Intense snowfall caused numerous accidents across Upper Austria on Friday morning, leading to significant traffic delays, especially in Linz. Over 700 firefighters responded to the incidents. More than 40 accidents were reported, primarily involving property damage, as drivers lost control on snowy and slushy roads. Firefighters assisted vehicles stuck in ditches and on slippery surfaces. The region experienced ten to fifteen centimeters of new snow, with trucks lacking snow chains contributing to some accidents. Road maintenance crews and private services worked to clear roads, using double the usual amount of salt.
