University student recovers from meningitis and speaks with doctors

A 19-year-old university student diagnosed with meningitis has been extubated and is now speaking with doctors. The veterinary student, hospitalized earlier this week, remains in the ICU at Trikala Hospital for further neurological assessment. He developed symptoms including fever and headache on April 4. The case was confirmed as meningococcus and reported to health authorities. Close contacts have received preventive treatment.
