Universal immunotherapy shows promise against endometrial cancer

UCLA researchers developed a universal immunotherapy that effectively detects and destroys endometrial cancer in experimental models. This novel CAR-NKT cell therapy targets mesothelin, a protein on cancer cells, and attacks tumors through multiple pathways simultaneously, showing superior efficacy compared to conventional treatments. The "off-the-shelf" therapy is designed to be more accessible and affordable, with preclinical studies complete and plans to seek FDA approval for human clinical trials.
