UN experts: US attacks in Iran likely war crimes

A UN-appointed expert group has found reasonable grounds to believe the US committed war crimes in two attacks in southern Iran on February 28 that killed at least 177 civilians, the same day the war began. The majority of deaths occurred in a missile strike on a school in Minab, located near a Revolutionary Guard facility. The report states satellite imagery clearly showed playgrounds and children's murals, with no evidence of military use. A separate attack on a sports facility in Lamerd killed 21 people, with both deemed indiscriminate attacks violating the laws of war. The White House dismissed the report as nonsense, while the experts also accused Iranian authorities of crimes against humanity during protests, suggesting the death toll may exceed the regime's claimed 3,000.
