Ultra-black paint could reduce satellite light pollution for astronomers

A new ultra-black paint, Vantablack 310, could significantly reduce light pollution from satellites, improving astronomical observations. Researchers found that coating satellites with Vantablack 310 reflected only 2% of incoming light, making them much less visible and comparable to or better than existing anti-reflection methods. This development offers a practical solution to a growing problem of satellite interference with stargazing, with real-world testing planned for an upcoming CubeSat mission.
