Ukrainian Sea Drones Strike Russian Black Sea Port of Sochi for First Time

Ukraine struck the Russian Black Sea port city of Sochi with an uncrewed surface vessel for the first time, damaging the multipurpose offshore vessel Nefrit in an attack Kyiv said targeted Russia's energy infrastructure. The Ukrainian Navy claimed the Nefrit, which supports oil and gas operations, was hit by a naval drone, with video showing a large explosion and smoke. Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin declared a temporary emergency, issuing a USV threat warning before an all-clear about 30 minutes later. The attack, launched roughly 350 miles from Ukrainian-held territory, extends Kyiv's drone boat campaign that has forced Russia's Black Sea Fleet to retreat from Crimea. The extent of the Nefrit's damage remains unclear, and the Kremlin has not yet responded.
