Ukrainian air defenses downed 135 of 163 Russian drones overnight

Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 135 of 163 Russian drones launched overnight, according to the Air Force. The attack targeted multiple regions, including western areas, with about half of the drones being jet-powered. The assault began at 6:00 p.m. on September 2 and continued into Thursday morning. Russian forces used Shahed drones, S8000 Banderol, Gerbera, and Parody decoy drones. Strikes were recorded at 15 locations, with debris falling at four sites, and the attack was still ongoing as of 8:30 a.m. In Odesa, 17 people were injured, including three children, from the drone attack. Other affected regions included Kyiv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, and Vinnytsia. The Air Force warned that enemy drones remained in the airspace.
