Ukraine's Defense Ministry reports improved Starshield connectivity at speeds up to 160 km/h
Ukraine's Defense Ministry reports improved Starlink satellite communication quality on Starshield systems at speeds up to 160 km/h, according to LIGA.net. However, SpaceX maintains its speed restriction at 161 km/h, and the ministry continues negotiations with partners to prevent sudden service limitations. Sources in a Ukrainian unmanned systems unit told LIGA.net that on October 14 they were able to use Middle Strike-class drones. The speed restriction had previously complicated operations of Ukrainian strike drones and Shahed interceptors, with military personnel reporting communication failures at speeds between 72 and 161 km/h. Former Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov stated on Telegram that Starshield operations at up to 160 km/h were resuming for Ukrainian forces. SpaceX founder Elon Musk responded that Starshield systems belong to the US government, with any speed limits determined by American military and final decisions made by the US president.
