Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee investigates fuel station chains for price collusion

Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee is investigating possible collusion among major fuel station chains over record-high gasoline and diesel prices, continuing a case opened after a March price spike. The committee opened the case on March 9 and in April urged stations to set prices only on objective economic factors. On July 31, it discussed a new price surge linked to Middle East tensions with the largest chains. No final decision has been reached. Fuel prices are not state-regulated in Ukraine and reflect supply and demand. As of August 6, A-95 gasoline costs 79.90–85.40 hryvnias per liter and diesel costs 89.90–95.90. The committee received consumer complaints.
