Ukraine vows probe after drone crash near Bulgarian pipeline; Bulgaria calls ambassador

rfi.fr (Portuguese)

A drone resembling Ukrainian military models crashed near a Bulgarian gas pipeline Saturday; Kyiv denied deliberate targeting and promised an investigation, while Bulgaria summoned the Ukrainian ambassador. The drone exploded near the Kardam border post with Romania, about 1,000 meters from a Trans-Balkan pipeline compressor station, causing no casualties. Ukraine said it did not direct any device at Bulgaria and offered full cooperation. This is Bulgaria’s first recorded drone incident, unlike neighboring Romania’s recurring falls. Bulgaria summoned ambassador Olesya Ilashchuk for Monday; Kyiv cited Russia’s five-year war as root cause.
