Ukraine braces for petrol price surge to 95 UAH per liter in August

Ukrainian gas stations kept petrol prices unchanged on August 4, averaging 81.25 UAH per liter, but experts forecast a significant increase to 95 UAH per liter in the first half of August due to restricted fuel tanker navigation on the shallow Danube River. Wholesale petrol prices have already risen, with the average price of A-95 increasing by 1.02 UAH per liter to 80.89 UAH between July 24 and July 31. Major retail chains currently sell petrol at prices ranging from 77 to 86.49 UAH per liter, with Neftek having the highest prices and Faktor the lowest. Prices are expected to stabilize in the second half of August. Additionally, Ukrainian authorities have rejected mobile fuel stations due to quality and tax control risks, while up to 200 fuel infrastructure facilities have been damaged by Russian attacks, prompting calls for reduced time at gas stations.
