UK Sport strips GB Snowsport of Olympic programme funding after governance review

UK Sport has withdrawn all funding from GB Snowsport for the next Olympic cycle, following an independent review into the organisation's governance, just six months after Team GB's most successful Winter Olympics. UK Sport has guaranteed £12.5m for ski and snowboard athletes and their Paralympic equivalents over four years, the largest share of a £33m winter sports pool, but will route this through a new mechanism outside GB Snowsport, with details expected by year-end. GB Snowsport said it was "disappointed" and cited its own recent independent review confirming strong governance standards. The decision follows two chair changes in three years at GB Snowsport. UK Sport also announced Sport Org, a new multisport delivery organisation, will take over elite programmes in certain sports, including transferring British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association programmes before Utah 2034.
