Knowsley Safari in Merseyside has welcomed a five-year-old female Amur tiger named Yuki. She joins a breeding program aimed at preserving this endangered species, which has only about 450 individuals left in the wild. Yuki was previously part of the largest family group of Amur tigers in the UK at Longleat Safari Park. She will share her new home with a six-year-old male tiger named Makari, who arrived in 2023. The introduction of Yuki is part of a European Breeding Programme. Knowsley Safari is also collaborating with the Wildcats Conservation Alliance to support Amur tiger conservation efforts.
