UK prison officer avoids jail for inmate relationship

A senior prison officer, Tracy Boateng, avoided jail time despite being caught on bodycam kissing and hugging an inmate, due to the impact on her infant. Boateng, 26, admitted misconduct in a public office for her relationship with inmate Vincent Ojo at HMP Pentonville. The court heard bodycam footage captured their interactions, including a selfie. She received a 12-month suspended sentence. The judge cited the impact on Boateng's three-month-old daughter as the reason for suspending the sentence. Ojo was previously jailed for drug offenses. Another prison officer was jailed earlier this year for a similar offense.
