UBTech plans mass production of industrial humanoid robots by year end

UBTech Robotics, based in Shenzhen, plans to start mass production of its Walker S Series industrial humanoid robots by the end of 2025. The company aims to deliver 500 to 1,000 units this year to clients like Foxconn and SF Express. The new Walker S2 model, launching in the second quarter, will be lighter and stronger than its predecessor. UBTech also plans to introduce the Walker S3 later this year, focusing on industrial applications due to the simpler environment compared to homes. Despite ongoing losses, UBTech is prioritizing investment in artificial intelligence over immediate profits. The company reported a slight decrease in net loss for the first half of 2024, totaling 516.4 million yuan.
