Uber to introduce AI assistant to support drivers in transitioning to electric vehicles
Uber will launch an AI assistant powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o to help drivers transition to electric vehicles (EVs). This initiative is part of Uber's commitment to reduce emissions and support drivers in switching to EVs by 2040. The AI assistant will debut in early 2025 in the U.S. and later expand to other regions. It will provide personalized information based on drivers' locations and available incentives. The chatbot will also answer broader queries starting in early 2025. Currently, about 180,000 Uber drivers in North America and Europe are adopting EVs monthly. Uber is also introducing a mentorship program for drivers transitioning to EVs and hosting events for customers to test drive electric vehicles.
