Uber rolls out ChatGPT Work to all 30,000 employees
Uber is expanding its use of ChatGPT Work to all 30,000 employees company-wide, following a successful pilot with 1,000 staff earlier this year. The announcement was made Thursday alongside OpenAI. The initial pilot involved workers across finance, operations, and product departments, with 80% being non-engineers. They used the tool for data analysis, localizing training materials, and building interactive dashboards. Uber's VP of engineering, Sumanth Sukumar, said the company will track usage and outcomes to guide future AI deployment. Uber did not disclose the cost of the rollout. The expansion highlights OpenAI's push into the enterprise market, competing with rivals like Anthropic, as it builds on its consumer brand reputation.
