Typhoon Julian to reenter Philippine area before Taiwan landfall
Typhoon Julian, also known as Krathon, is expected to reenter the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday before making landfall in Taiwan. The Philippine weather agency, Pagasa, reported that this will not significantly affect the Philippines, except for Batanes. As of early Thursday, Julian was located 265 km west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph. Batanes is under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, indicating potential minimal threats. Julian is predicted to weaken rapidly after landfall in Taiwan and may become a remnant low by Friday. The storm has downgraded from a super typhoon to a regular typhoon as of Wednesday.
