Two officials suspended in Karimnagar after food poisoning incident at hostel

Two officials in Karimnagar district were suspended after three students from a social welfare hostel were hospitalized due to food poisoning. The incident occurred on January 8 at an integrated girls' hostel in Thimmapur mandal. The suspended officials include V Reva, the hostel welfare officer, and M Vijaypal Reddy, the assistant social welfare officer. A recommendation for the suspension of M Nagaileshwar, a deputy director, was also made for failing to report the incident. An inquiry revealed that 75 students had lunch before five showed symptoms. The district administration learned of the situation through media reports after student protests. Proper medical procedures were not followed during the incident.
