Two doctors acquitted in patient's death following surgery

Two doctors were acquitted of manslaughter in the death of a patient. The patient died three days after surgery and discharge. The patient died in December 2022 from a massive pulmonary embolism. Medical professionals determined the condition could not have been diagnosed at the time of her initial hospital visit. The prosecution alleged the clot formation began during the first hospital visit. However, experts concluded the clot formed rapidly and close to the second hospital admission, making diagnosis impossible.
