Two arrested in Karnataka for extorting priest through honey trap

Two individuals from Karnataka were arrested for allegedly extorting over ₹40 lakh from a priest using a honey trap. Neha Fathima, 25, and Sarathi, 29, were taken into custody by Vaikom police. The extortion began in April 2023 after Fathima befriended the priest under the pretense of seeking a job. She later threatened to release private videos unless he paid her money. The priest reported the situation to the police after continued demands for more money. Both suspects have been remanded by the court following the police investigation.
