Twelve killed in armed attack at Benin national park

Seven members of Beninese security forces and five rangers were killed in an attack by an armed group in National Park W, which spans 10,000 square kilometers. The incident occurred near the Mékrou River, amid rising violence from jihadi groups in the Sahel region. The al-Qaida-linked JNIM group is suspected, as militants increasingly target coastal states like Benin and Togo.
