lanazione.it (Italian)

The Tuscany region of Italy ranks fourth nationally in terms of vineyard surface area, covering 52,799 hectares, exceeding the national average. However, Tuscany ranks sixth in wine production, generating 2.7 million hectoliters, which is 5.7% of the national total. Castellina in Chianti holds the leading position in Italy for dedicating the highest percentage of its wine-growing area to Dop wines, at 76.2%. Other Tuscan towns, such as San Gimignano and Montespertoli, also show high percentages for Dop wines. Concerns remain regarding potential U.S. tariffs. The Tuscan president plans to meet with economic groups on April 8th to discuss the matter and advocate for a stronger European response.
