Turkey Warns Greece: 'Hope No One Takes Irrational Step' in Aegean
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan warned Greece against "irrational moves" in the Aegean, stating that Turkish armed forces and coast guard units are in a "sensitive state." He expressed hope that no one would take reckless action in the region. Fidan cautioned that if there is intent for "adventurous steps," Turkey's seriousness and strength are known to all. He added that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shows willingness to resolve issues through dialogue with each new government. Fidan also claimed Turkey is a factor in Greek domestic politics, suggesting opposition parties use Turkey as a topic to attract public attention. He noted a common understanding exists with the current Greek government to avoid surprises while they remain in power.
