Turin's public hospital now offers ovarian cancer molecular testing in-house

Turin's Città della Salute e della Scienza has become the first public hospital in Piedmont to offer the HRD molecular profiling test for ovarian cancer in-house, ending the need for patients to use private labs. This aims to reduce wait times and enable personalized therapies. The test, previously outsourced by the Sant'Anna hospital, is now operational at the Molinette's Molecular Pathology Laboratory. The initiative was funded by a 2 million euro contribution from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, with Fondazione Ricerca Molinette managing the project and technology donation. The service was developed over a year as part of the Piedmont hospital foundations network, promoted by the region and Compagnia di San Paolo. Officials say the goal is to deliver faster, more precise diagnoses and strengthen clinical research collaborations.
