Trump wins all seven key states in 2024 presidential election shift
In the 2024 presidential election, President-elect Donald Trump won all seven closely watched states, a shift from President Biden's victories in six of them in 2020. Trump is also expected to win the popular vote, reversing Biden's 7 million vote margin from four years ago. Trump performed strongly in suburban areas, winning 51% of the vote compared to Harris's 47%. He gained significant support among white suburban women and men, contributing to his success in key swing states, including a net swing of nearly 60,000 votes in the Philadelphia suburbs. In rural areas, Trump achieved a record 64% of the vote, surpassing his previous high in 2016. Meanwhile, Harris underperformed in urban areas, receiving only 59% of the vote, which contributed to losses in critical states like Arizona and Michigan.
