Trinity College names library after poet Eavan Boland

Trinity College Dublin has renamed its main library after Irish poet Eavan Boland, marking the first time a building at the university has been named after a woman in its 433-year history. Boland, who passed away in 2020, is recognized for her contributions to literature and women's rights, making her an appropriate choice for the honor. A plaque will be unveiled on March 10 to commemorate the renaming, but the external signage displaying Boland's name is still pending due to regulatory restrictions. The delay has prompted some students to express frustration, as many still refer to the library by its former name.
