Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) significantly reduced visceral and low back pain after laparoscopic hysterectomy. The study found TEAS lowered pain scores and the incidence of moderate-to-severe visceral and low back pain on multiple postoperative days. It also reduced inflammation and opioid consumption. TEAS did not show a significant effect on incisional pain, but it did improve recovery metrics like earlier drain removal and ambulation, and reduced nausea and vomiting.
