Trade deadline: only five of 21 Big Board moves matched; Dodgers land Skubal, Reds idle

The Athletic's Big Board trade predictions saw 21 of 60 listed players moved at the deadline, but only five went to teams it named as best fits. The board's traffic-light system rated trade likelihood: one of six red lights moved, one-third of yellow lights moved, and nine of 21 green lights were dealt. Tarik Skubal's late-night trade to the Dodgers was the deadline's biggest deal. The board expanded from 50 to 60 entries. Several highly ranked candidates, including C.J. Abrams and Mason Miller, stayed put as teams chose to buy. Cincinnati was notably inactive.
