Tourists robbed of Rolex in Forte dei Marmi; suspect arrested after chase
A couple of Italian tourists was robbed of a gold Rolex in Forte dei Marmi on Tuesday night after being sprayed with irritant; one suspect, an undocumented Algerian, was arrested following a chase. The attack occurred around 10 p.m. on Via Giorgini, where two bandits sprayed pepper spray in the victims' eyes and snatched the woman's watch. Local police officers on bicycles and a citizen pursued the suspects, who split up; one was blocked after throwing the watch to his accomplice, who escaped. The arrested man had no criminal record, while the victim couldn't identify him due to the spray's effects. CCTV footage is being analyzed. This marks the third watch robbery in a week using the same method, raising questions about whether the same gang is responsible.
