Total lunar eclipse visible in US starting Friday

news.yahoo.com

A total lunar eclipse will occur in North America for the first time since November 2022. It will begin around 12:55 a.m. ET on Friday and last over three and a half hours. The eclipse will be visible across all lower 48 states, as well as parts of South America and western Europe and Africa. Telescopes and binoculars can enhance the experience, but are not necessary. During the eclipse, the Earth will block sunlight from reaching the moon, causing it to appear red or orange. The next total lunar eclipse in the U.S. is expected on March 3, 2026.
