Torvill and Dean announce retirement from performing on Dancing on Ice
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will perform for the last time on live TV during the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice. They have decided to retire from skating after over five decades, stating that "people our age shouldn't be doing it now." Despite retiring from performing, Torvill and Dean will continue as judges on the show. They have been part of Dancing on Ice since its inception in 2006 and helped develop the format with ITV. The new series will feature contestants like Charlie Brooks and Anton Ferdinand. Torvill and Dean noted that the skating standard is high this season, with Coronation Street's Sam Aston and footballer Anton Ferdinand standing out.
