Tornado steam train visits Cornwall, aiding training center

A famous steam train, the "Tornado," will visit Cornwall this weekend, boosting fundraising efforts for a new engineering training center. The visit aims to support the final push for funding. The Tornado, the first new mainline steam locomotive built in the UK since 1960, will arrive in St Blazey on Sunday. It will be turning at MPower's award-winning railway turntable, which was restored in 2023. The training center, set to open in September, seeks to address the UK's technical skills shortage. MPower is launching a Crowdfunder in early June to raise the remaining £75,000 needed to complete the project.
