Tornado outbreak in Alabama confirmed 12 tornadoes

Survey teams in Alabama have confirmed that 12 tornadoes occurred during a severe weather outbreak on Saturday. This outbreak resulted in three deaths and several injuries. Officials believe that as many as 17 tornadoes may have touched down across the state. U.S. Representative Terri Sewell visited some of the worst-hit areas on Tuesday. She spoke with residents in Plantersville, where two of the fatalities occurred. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham is reviewing 16 storm tracks in central Alabama to determine if tornadoes caused the damage. These tracks include several counties, such as Autauga, Dallas, and Tuscaloosa. The NWS office in Huntsville is also looking into damage in Cullman County. Teams from the NWS are continuing to investigate the storms to better understand their impact. Nationwide, over 30 fatalities have been reported due to the severe weather, which affected Alabama, Texas, Kansas, and several other states.
