U.S. News released its 2026-2027 rankings of top Massachusetts hospitals, with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center leading in multiple specialties. The annual report now places greater emphasis on risk-adjusted patient outcomes. Massachusetts General Hospital ranked 1st in Psychiatry, 5th in Cancer, and 6th in Cardiology. Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center placed 3rd in Cancer, while Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center ranked 4th in Obstetrics and Gynecology. McLean Hospital took 2nd in Psychiatry, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital placed 2nd in Rehabilitation. The rankings reduced weight on hospital size, staffing, technology, and reputation, with patient outcomes now determining most scores in cardiology. New regional specialty rankings were introduced for cancer, cardiology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation to help patients find highly rated care closer to home.
