Tokyo's Kita Ward Issues Level 4 Evacuation Order for Landslide Risk Zones

Tokyo's Kita Ward issued an evacuation order (Level 4) for residents in landslide risk zones on Sunday evening. The order affects 2,982 households and 5,207 people. The precautionary measure was taken due to potential heavy rain from September 6 through 7, which could trigger a Level 4 landslide warning. Three evacuation centers, including the Kita Ward Disaster Prevention Center, have been opened. The order comes as Typhoon No. 24 brings heavy rain to the Kanto region, with several other Tokyo wards also announcing temporary school closures for Monday.
