Toho acquires animation distributor GKids to expand U.S. presence

Toho Co., known for the Godzilla franchise, will acquire U.S. animation distributor GKids Inc. The deal will make GKids a wholly owned subsidiary, enhancing Toho's animation resources and expanding its presence in the U.S. market. Toho and GKids have previously collaborated on U.S. releases, including the Oscar-winning film "The Boy and the Heron." The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
