Tim Janus, competitive eater and TV star, dies at 49

Tim Janus, a reality TV star and professional eater known as Eater X, died on September 16 at age 49 from cancer complications. He won $100,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2009. Janus was the largest winner in Cash Cab history and appeared on Amazing Race in 2018. He ranked No. 2 worldwide in competitive eating from 2006 to 2018, wearing a painted Viking mask inspired by professional wrestling. His publicist confirmed the death on September 20.
