Three GUR fighters wounded in Kyiv shootout, one seriously

Three Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR) fighters were wounded during a shootout in Kyiv, one seriously with a pierced artery but in stable condition, according to Stepan Kaplunov, deputy commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK). Kaplunov said he heard the gunfire from his apartment during a search by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and GUR, and that no prohibited items were found. He disputed claims of collaboration with Russia's FSB, alleging psychological pressure, and said he is now under protection of his unit. The shooting occurred during a search of Kaplunov's apartment on September 2, amid an SBU-GUR conflict. SBU claimed it prevented an assassination plot on a Russian opposition figure, while GUR accused SBU of kidnapping. President Zelenskyy called the incident disgraceful, demanding investigations.
