Three arrested with 662 protected turtles on Sahibganj train

Three individuals were arrested with 662 young turtles on a train in Sahibganj, suspected to be part of an interstate smuggling ring. The accused, from Uttar Pradesh, were transporting Indian Softshell Turtles, a protected species, from Varanasi to West Bengal for the meat trade. The rescued turtles will be released after legal formalities, and authorities are intensifying crackdowns on wildlife trafficking.
