Three arrested for selling fake gold in Arani

Three individuals were arrested in Arani for selling fake gold biscuits. The suspects, aged 67, 51, and 48, were caught after a local drama artist bought 10 fake biscuits, believing they were real gold. The victim, K. Loganathan, was approached at a bus terminus and convinced to trade two sovereigns of gold and cash for the fake biscuits. He discovered the fraud after consulting a pawn broker. The police arrested the suspects in Vellore following Loganathan's complaint. They are now in custody at Central Prison, and an investigation is ongoing.
