Thomas Jefferson boys volleyball team returns eight starters
The Thomas Jefferson boys volleyball team is ready for the new season with eight starters returning from last year. This strong lineup includes key players like Braeden Artman, Aiden Dushack, Brayden Concannon, and Jaiden Wadlow. The team will have a solid foundation for their matches, utilizing their skills across various positions. Coach Frank Staffen is optimistic about the season. He noted the talent returning and the new players joining the team. More than ten players are also participating in various Junior Olympic clubs, which adds depth to the roster this year. Last season, the Jaguars made a strong playoff run as the No. 10 seed in the WPIAL Class 2A. They upset higher-ranked teams before losing in the semifinals and again in the consolation round. Artman and setter Sujan Pradhan were notable performers last year, with Artman leading in kills and blocks. The team is focusing on their top three positions in Section 3-2A, competing against schools like Seton LaSalle and South Park. Staffen expects a tight race for the top spots. The Jaguars are determined to build on last year's success, even with the losses of key players Riley Burdett and William Stewart to graduation.
